When biocatalysis and heterogeneous catalysis team up – looking for a postdoctoral researcher

The Debecker group has an opening for a 1-year postdoctoral position, to participate in our efforts to bridge biocatalysis and heterogeneous catalysis. More precisely, the project deals with “hybrid chemo-enzymatic heterogeneous catalysts”.

We are a heterogeneous catalysis lab, and we also like to work with enzymes… We specifically want to team up with a researcher who has significant experience with enzyme catalysis and who would also like to work with heterogeneous catalysts. This complementarity is essential.

Funding is directly provided by the group, guaranteed for 1 year. Candidates must fulfill the “mobility rule” as defined for EU projects (no more than 12 months spent in Belgium in the last 3 years). After joining the group, the successful candidate will be strongly encouraged to apply for external funding (Marie Curie, FNRS, or UCLouvain post-doctoral fellowship) so that a longer stay can be envisaged.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in the supervision of PhD researchers and students. Bringing fresh idea is very welcome!

Starting date is: ASAP from October 2022.
